We actually launched the boat and caught the fish in the Ipswich River, but had to seek shelter at the Annasquam Yacht Club on the Annasquam River when we got caught in a thunderstorm. We couldn’t get back to the car because the river was at dead low tide, so we ended up booking it south from Ipswich to Gloucester, with some thunder and lightning right on our tail.
This fish was right near 28″, and I really wanted to bring it home and eat it, but I didn’t have a measuring tape, and it might have been slightly under. Caught with a blue rapala while trolling. Justin 2, Al 0!
